Things made by hand were thought to reflect the mind of those who made them. That’s why traditional Japanese craftsmanship is highly admired even today. Also, it was believed that ancient Japanese letters (yamato kotoba) had power in themselves and the power influenced people’s body and mind. In everyday life they used the power. They wore clothes or things with such letters on them.

It is natural for Japanese people to live based on Japanese tradition. There are lots of things we should learn from the tradition. People in ancient Japan found it good for their body and mind to wear something that gave them power. It was their wisdom. We would like to take in the wisdom in our everyday life.

Why Handmade?

 Even today things made by hand are considered to reflect the mind of those who made them. That’s why traditional Japanese craftsmanship is still highly admired.

 People believed that ancient Japanese letters (Yamato kotoba) had power in themselves and the power influenced their body and mind.

In ancient Japan letters were considered to have power and people used the power in their daily life in various ways. The power was believed to purify the human soul.

◎Kimono

　Ancient people wore clothes woven from vegetable fiber. In Jomon period it was believed wearing clothes properly woven with the warp (expressing wisdom, the universe, sociability, fatherhood) and weft (expressing love, peaceful world, family and motherhood) was necessary to cultivate decent humanity and pray. People thought something a person wore influenced his or her mind.

 It was a sacred job for a wife to weave for her husband with pure heart and praying.

 ◎Haori

　Haori is a short coat worn over a kimono. You can wear it just like a jacket. It is a formal wear and used as winter clothes.

Summer haori is unlined, but most of haori has a stylish or fashionable lining, and Japanese people think it “cool” that a small part of the lining can be seen when looked from the back.

Yamato Design has arranged this formal Japanese wear in a modern way. It’s good harmony of Japanese tradition and a modern sense of play.

 ◎Setta, Geta and Zori

　Traditional Japanese footwear makes human feet function properly as a root of the body, supports the body and promotes a circulation in the body. It also can make energy coming out and in actively through the sole.

<Features>

-Energy comes out from the tip of the toes and each toe is related to its respective internal organ.

-If a foot is constantly pressed in a shoe, that causes various foot troubles. For example, a small toe doesn’t function; the arch of the foot disappears; and we have hallux valgus. The condition of a foot is very important for health of the whole body.

-It is said that no one suffered from athlete’s foot or hallux valgus in Japan until people began to put on shoes.

 <History>

-In Japan people wore geta and seta before the war. They had the habit of always making their feet clean because they wore geta and seta with bare feet.

-It is said that seta was designed by Sen no Rikyu, founder of tea ceremony.

-Even today Japanese craftsmen make seta of natural material by hand.

 <Function>

-If you wear setta of natural material barefoot, your feet will be always dry, free from dampness.

-There are four kinds of sole. Leather-soled ones are most popular. Before getting used to wearing leather-soled setta, it is sometimes slippery, so you should be careful at first. Plastic-soled setta is better when raining.

-Putting a thong between your toes and making the sole of your foot touch the natural material of setta promotes the circulation of the blood and makes foot muscles strong.

-Wearing setta adjusts both physical and mental balance.

 <How to Wear>

-Choose a little smaller size because it is better to wear it with a small part of your heel projecting from its platform.

-It’s good for a small toe to project from the platform.

-Put a thong lightly between the big toe and the second toe.

-If a thong is too loose, your foot will be easily tired.

-Geta is made of wood, so be careful when walking on the hard place.

-If you don’t want to wear it barefoot or where being barefoot is not allowed, you can put on a pair of tabi (socks cloven at the big toe) or socks cloven at each toe.

文字

古代日本では、文字そのものにパワーが宿っており、

光と共に神の波動があるものとして“型霊（カタダマ）”であった。

そのパワーで、魂を浄められるとして使われていた。

◆TUTAE

日本文化の伝統を土台に、“身にまとう”ファッション　×　“心”デザインを実現することになりました。

◆KIMONO

日本の古代から植物繊維などを織り、身にまとっていました。

縄文時代では、縦糸を『知恵・天地の繋がり・社会性・父性など』横糸を『慈しみ・地上平定・家族性・母性など』をしっかりと織っている物をマトウことは、『よじれ』のない人間性の育成や祈りの存在でした。

『よじれ』とは、糸が乱れ布として美しい状態ではない。これは『心に“ヨコシマ”な状況を表す』ということになり、まとうものは着るものの精神を司る・・・という存在でした。

ですから、パートナーである妻が祈りと純粋な（まっすぐ）な心で、主人の衣を織ることは、神聖な領域の仕事とされていました。

大和創造Yamato Desigでは、古典的な和装をはみ出た世界観を表現しています。

◆HAORI

羽織というと、着物の上に着る“洋服でいうジャケット”です。

第一礼服・フォーマルであり、防寒着という役割です。

夏物は一枚織りですが、それ以外は羽裏（裏地）が表と違って『華やかなもの』『物語を持つもの』などがあり“見えないところに凝る”という『底至り』の大人の美学的なスタイルがあります。

羽裏の生地が袖の後ろ側から“ほんのり見える”ことにより、日本の文化では“おしゃれ”という価値観が長きに渡り存在しています。

（着物では裾、襟元などにも凝っている物があります）

夏物では、透かし模様によって絵柄を出す技も、重ね着の個性が表れ、ちょっとした遊び心をくすぐります。

そのフォーマルな日本文化を現代風にアレンジした組み合わせにて『古代日本からの伝統』と『現代の遊び感覚』を掛け合わせて楽しむ・・・・を、『太陽◎創造』的スタイリングしています。

◆Setta,Geta and Zori

 【雪駄・下駄・草履】

日本の伝統的な履物は、『身体の根の部分』として足の全機能をしっかり使い、身体を支え循環を活発にします。エネルギーの出し入れを活発にできる部分でもあります。

【特徴】

◎指の先端はエネルギーの放出場所であり、指の一本一本が『地に足を掴む』様に働き、それぞれの内蔵への反射刺激になっている。

◎靴に抑えられた足は、小指が機能せず浮き上がる。土踏まずがなくなる。外反母趾になる。それは、植物でいうところ『根』の機能が破壊状態です。

◎内蔵だけの関連ではなく、思考・眼、上半身への不具合と強く関連しています。

◎電気が体内に溜まった場合に放出することが必要です。

『電化製品』『電波』『ヒトの気』などを体内に蓄電しがちの現代、本来は土の上に裸足でいることにより放出したり、畳や草を利用して放出したり・・・・日本の本来あった生活環境には様々な『不必要は放出』する浄化機能がありました。ヒトのエネルギーの元でもある“足元”から整える履物です。

靴ばかり履いていると、足の小指が浮いてしまい外反母趾・内反小指（小指が内側に入ってしまう）になり、バランスが難しい。転びやすくなる。骨折になりやすい。足の裏の筋肉の低下、退化の進行。

「ここぞ！」という時に踏ん張りが効く・・・のも、足の環境がとても大事になります。

地面を掴む力が出て、バランス感覚がよく運動能力に良い状態。

日本では靴を履く前、水虫・外反母趾はなかったと言われています。（締め付けるものがないので）

 【歴史】

・世界に誇れる二音の文化の一つです。戦前までは下駄や雪駄を履いていました。素足で履くことから『足を綺麗にする習慣』が身についています。

※足ものを綺麗に保つ意識は、『自己』への心配りをする・・・という意味合いがあります。

西洋では靴を磨くマナーがあり、どちらにしても、自己の存在の『土台』ですね。

・雪駄は千利休が考案したと言われる。

・現代でも日本の職人さんの手作りです。

 【機能】

・天然素材は素足で履くと足が蒸れない。通気性が良い。

・底は４種類ほどありますが、「一番雪駄らしい」というのは革底です。

　革底は馴染むまで滑りやすいので最初は気をつけて歩く。雨の場合はビニールなど合成底を選ぶとよいです。

・鼻緒を掴む足の運動、足の裏が天然素材に触れることより足裏のツボが刺激され、血液の循環を抹消から促進し、足の筋肉の強化と用の働きを良くします。天然リフレクソロジーですね。

・『地面を掴む力』によって、体内の形が整い、外から見ても姿勢が綺麗になっていきます。（体の内外のバランスも足元から）

・体のバランスが整ってきますと、宿る『心』の向く方も変わっていきます。

古代日本のもう一つ大切な祈り・・・・『ヨコシマな邪気から守る』という精神を現代に生かすため、職人さんのココロが要になります。

本来のココロの在り方を十分に経験され、思い遣ることの大切さを積み上げている職人さんならではの経験の豊かさが作品から無意識にも伝わってきます。

【パワー有る物を身に付ける】

　古代日本では、神代文字そのものにパワーが宿っており、光と共に神の波動があるものとして“型霊（カタダマ）”であった。そのパワーで、魂を浄められるとして使われていた。

ゴシゴシ擦ることは生地を傷めます。

ぬるめの温度で手洗いお願いします。

脱水は『弱』で１分までにします。（摩擦を嫌います）

水気を十分に取り（水が滴らない）陰干します。

レストランなどの“おしぼり”など薬品を使っているものは避けてください
